(Billboard Publicity Wire) December 22, 2007 — Bluegrass master Del McCoury offered up a holiday gift to music fans today with the announcement that he'll be hosting a world-class music festival over Memorial Day weekend in 2008. Produced in association with High Sierra Music, Delfest will build on McCoury's record in presenting a popular New Year's Eve concert at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, his success with his own McCoury Music label–and, of course, his reputation as a legendary artist whose appeal crosses generations and genres–to offer a festival experience stamped with the unique McCoury touch.

Though the inaugural lineup is still being built, it's clear that the bluegrass patriarch's wide-ranging appeal and cross-genre friendships are shaping the 3-day program. Besides appearances by the Del McCoury Band throughout the weekend, Vince Gill, Dierks Bentley, Keller Williams and The Keels, Sam Bush, David Grisman Bluegrass Experience, Abigail Washburn & The Sparrow Quartet featuring Bela Fleck, the Punch Brothers featuring Chris Thile, and Railroad Earth are among those already confirmed, many for multiple performances.

In addition to traditional stage sets by these world-class artists, attendees can expect to see one-of-a-kind collaborations, special guest sit-ins, and various to Del McCoury and his musical legacy. Each day's schedule will also feature more intimate appearances, …

SANTA'S delivery rounds would be troublesome in a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, with a fraction of a sleigh's boot space, but as a top-end Christmas gift for the person who has everything, it might just work.
GT Contintental's Barry Williams says the $390,000 V12 Italian car would make a very special Christmas present. "It is the sort of present you'd probably buy for yourself."
Finding something extra special for those accustomed to quality is hard, but dotted about Wellington there are fillers for the luxury Christmas stocking.
If private African gameparks, Dubai shopping and Bedouin desert luxury are Santa's idea of a good time, flying Emirates' first class suites to Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge in South Africa for the Christmas break is a great way to blow about $40,000.
Staying at luxury resorts Al Mahar and Burj Al Arab in Dubai on the way, you'll not have to lift a finger, with personal butlers and helicopter transfers to make life expensively easy.
"It is totally over the top," House of Travel luxury specialist Erica Banks says.
If terrestrial fun is too lowbrow, how about a $200,000 212 hour suborbital experience with Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic space tours? A weightless $1000 a minute, not counting the three-day training regime.
Slightly more economical, Partridge Jewellers' Patek Philippe "Grand Complication" platinum wristwatch, with a price tag of $155,000, works out at 0.32 cents per minute, since it is guaranteed to keep exact time till the year 2100. And it will fit in a stocking.
you are running out of shopping hours, a Platinum Card whiparound of Lambton Quay this morning …

Washington, December 22 (ANI): Cornell University researchers are studying several innovative products, such as a message chair and a vibrating mouse, to determine whether they may help prevent back and other problems that result from sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time.

Alan Hedge, professor of design and environmental analysis in the universitys College of Human Ecology, has taken up this study at a time when the incidences of computer related injuries have increased in youngsters in their twenties.

One-third to one-half of all compensatory injuries are repetitive-motion injuries associated with office-type work,” says Hedge.

Back injuries, adds the researcher, also account for one-third of all workplace injuries.

Hedge says that most of these injuries were associated with heavy lifting a decade ago, but their biggest cause nowadays appears to be sitting in front of a computer all day.

He says that problems like carpal tunnel syndromea medical condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist, leading to pain and muscle weakness in the forearm and handwere usually reported by people in their late 30s to early 40s during the early 1990s.

However, he adds, the average age of onset of such conditions has dropped to the mid-20s these days.

“Now kids are using computers at age 2, so by the time they enter the workforce they’ll already be primed for injuries. This is very serious because an injury can become life-changing; carpal tunnel, for example, is not curable. They’ll have to manage this chronic condition for the rest of their lives,” Hedge says.

Just to address these concerns, Hedge adds, his Cornell Human Factors and Ergonomics Research Group is studying innovative products.

The researchers have so far studied a vibrating to see whether it could prevent upper extremity musculoskeletal disorders in computer users by signalling people …

Tomorrow night, the Dipsomaniacs, the area’s best pop-rock band, will perform at Buzz’s Tavern, 100 Rancocas Road, Mount Holly, from 9 p.m. to closing.
Led by Mick Chorba, the band also is part of the FDR record label’s new charity CD “About a Girl,” contributing the tune “Something Happened to Catherine,” originally recorded by Material Issue.
The theme CD is comprised of cover tunes that contain a girl’s name in the title, like Bruce Springsteen’s “Rosalita,” the Beach Boys’ “Wendy” and the Left Banke’s “Walk Away Renee.” The Dipsomaniacs’ other incarnation is the band Successful Failures, also fronted by Chorba and represented on the same CD by the Big Star song “O Dana.”
To get in on the Dipsoman-iacs’ sound before going to the show, pick up the band’s most recent CDs “Whatever Planet” and “Freakin Eureka.” Alterna-tive music meets pop, punk and rock in a good way on them.
The Dave Mitchell Band follows on Saturday at Buzz’s, taking the stage from 9 p.m. to closing; (609) 265-8344.

All 3 main models of HoMedics massage chairs claim to deliver a shiatsu massage, but in all honesty, it depends on your expectation levels as to whether you’ll be satisfied with the massage. Of the three, it’s the Scandinavian and ottoman that I rate and would even consider buying.

The company is well known as a supplier of wellness products to promote relaxation and to improve health. It established a name for itself in its manufacture of back and body massagers. Following on from this success, the company expanded into the ever popular robotic massage chair market. Its chairs fall in the price range of between around $250 and $800, so by comparison to other companies, they are cheap and affordable by many.

First up is the HoMedics AntiGravity massage recliner chair. The company prattles on about NASA astronauts and so forth in its advertising, but what is basically meant by the term ‘antigravity’, is that when fully reclined your feet are slightly above your head. This position has been shown to help improve circulation and most find it a quite relaxing position to be in. There are four models to choose from, the AG-2101, AG-3000, AG-3001 and AG-3000. The AG-2101 is the cheapest. It comes with ten motors and produces a vibrating massage. There are 8 programs to select from - none of which I found to be very inspiring - and 3 speeds. I don’t rate the massage but I like that the chair comes with heat in the lower lumbar region. I also its overall styling; sleek and contemporary.

The other three models are more expensive, even more stylish and also come with shiatsu massage on the back. Again, I found the massage to be rather disappointing. This was only because I’ve had an excellent shiatsu massage from a Sanyo massage chair, which was many times better, but the price of the Sanyo is also many times the price of the HoMedics HoMedics eLounger looks more like a massage chair you’d expect. It retails for between around $500 …

Is Christmas stress getting to you? Is there too much work with the gifts and cooking? Let’s see how a really big family can manage.

Eira and Markku Hannuksela are super grandparents, who criss-cross Finland during Christmas time. Today they are in Murro in Kempele, near Oulu with their daughter Sanna Marjanen.

The Hannukselas have 14 children, 105 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. In this house alone there are nine grandchildren.

Grandmother is making Christmas gingerbread with the grandchildren.

One of the younger ones places the cutter down on the dough, but Grandma slides it quietly to one side: “You never start in the middle, dear, but at the edges. That way you make the best use of all the dough”, she says gently.

One has to be precise with these things, but there is no sense in going overboard - at the other end of the table one of the small kids is scrunching ready-made biscuits into crumbs with a rolling pin that looks suspiciously as though it has flakes of plasticine on it.

When you ask the Hannukselas how many children they have, the answer that comes back is longer than a Thought for the Da äivi, Hely, Perttu, Tarmo, Juha, Sauli, Timo, Esa, Eero, Sampo, Sanna, Janne, Samuli, and Jaakko.

The oldest of their children is 50 years old, and the youngest is 27. Eira was already a grandmother when her youngest was born. Three of her children have 11 children, and there are more on the way.

The Hannukselas do remember the names of their grandchildren, but Grandmother is a bit hazy on the exact dates birth of all of them, but she has the season of their birth in mind.

“Every …

Now shoppers can nowexperience massage chairs before buying.

South Jordan, UT (PRWEB) December 16, 2007 — Massage-Chair-Relief.com is pleased to announce that they have opened their first brick and mortar physical store location. The store, called Massage Chair Relief Retail Outlet, is located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Massage-Chair-Relief.com has been selling the industry's top massage chairs online since 2005. Human Touch, Omega, Sanyo, and Panasonic massage chairs have been entrusted to Massage-Chair-Relief.com for retail distribution. However, all of their chair sales have been solely online. Now, patrons can visit an actual showroom where they can experience the models that have already been on the website for over 2 years.

The creation of a physical location is part of the long-term growth plans of Massage-chair-relief.com. This location carries the HT-125, HT-1650, HT-7120, and HT-7450 (anti-gravity) massage chairs by Human Touch, the brand new Panasonic EP30003 massage chair, the Sanyo 5000, and the new Omega Montage Elite massage chairs. No other store carries so many chairs by so many manufacturers under one roof.

Massage Chair Relief Retail Outlet has teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah to donate $25-50 for every chair sold through the new brick and mortar store. The goal of the new store is to adopt, and fund the wishes of, two Make-A-Wish kids per year. Make-A-Wish is an honorable organization which exists to grant wishes to kids with terminal illnesses. It is a cause which Dr. Alan Weidner, president of Massage-Chair-Relief.com/AM6 Distributing, firmly supports.

All of the other features that have made www.Massage-Chair-Relief.com so popular are also in effect with the new retail outlet. For example, bonus gifts with each purchase, free shipping, 90-day money-back guarantee, 110% low price guarantee, international shipping, and financing are all still available. The chairs …
